SEABEE COMBAT HANDBOOK, VOLUME 1 (NAVEDTRA 14234A)


​​This course provides the basic information and techniques that includes history and organization of the Seabees and the laws of armed conflict; organizational clothing and equipment; organic communications equipment; combat maneuvers, formations, patrols, and ambushes; land navigation; evasion, survival, escape, and recovery; individual protective measures; entanglements; chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBR-N) defense; first aid and field sanitation; small arms weapons; crew served weapons and AT4; marksmanship and techniques of fire; hand grenades, land mines, pyrotechnics; and improvised explosive devices.

NAVAL INSTRUCTIONAL THEORY (NAVEDTRA 14300A)


​The course is an introduction to Navy instructor basics. In completing this nonresident training course (NRTC), personnel will demonstrate a knowledge of the subject matter by correctly answering questions on the following: Navy training, the Navy instructor, motivation, principles of learning, effective communications, instructional methods, learning objectives, testing, course materials, and instructor evaluation.

This course is cannot be used for advancement of NSCC personnel. Extra Credit Only.

FIREMAN (NAVEDTRA 14104)


​Provides information on the following subject areas: engineering administration; engineering fundamentals; the basic steam cycle; gas turbines; internal combustion engines; ship propulsion; pumps, valves, and piping; auxiliary machinery and equipment; instruments; shipboard electrical equipment; and environmental controls.

Optional Courses

SOUND POWERED TELEPHONE TALKERS' TRAINING MANUAL (NAVEDTRA 14232)


​Supplies the basic knowledge necessary for the sound-powered telephone talker in any situation or condition. The manual is designed for individual study and is designed to meet the E-2/3 naval standards, but also applies to all ratings and pay grades.

​TOOLS AND THEIR USES (NAVEDTRA 14256)


​Provides information on the use and care of basic hand tools and measuring tools. This course covers the types and uses of a large number of basic tools used in many jobs throughout the Navy. The safety requirements, general care, and repair procedures are discussed for each tool. This course is intended for use by all Navy personnel; and it furnishes information on how to choose the proper tool for each job, examples of how the tools should be used, and the safety precautions that must be followed.  There is an alphabetical index of tools and operations at the end of the manual.

AIRMAN (NAVEDTRA 14014A) 


​​Presents an overview of naval aviation and includes subject matter coverage of the following: mission and history of naval aviation; organization of naval aviation; principles of flight; aircraft construction; aircraft hardware; aircraft power plants; aircraft avionics; ordnance; support equipment, line operations and safety; aircrew survival equipment; and crash rescue and fire fighting.

This course is used as an option for advancement of NSCC personnel to Airman (E-3) in lieu of the Seaman Course for personnel assigned to NSCC Squadron.
