NAVY LEAGUE CADET CORPS SYLLABUS
This manual provides the academic training program of the Navy League Cadet Corps.
Basic Military Requirements (14325)
Provides a self-study training course that covers the basic professional military knowledge required of the men and women of the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserve. This course provides subject matter that directly relates to the naval standards for the apprenticeship (E-2/E-3) rates.
This course is used for advancement of NSCC personnel to Seaman Apprentice (E-2).
Military Requirements for PO3 and PO2 (14504)
Covers the knowledge required of Sailors of the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserve. Designed for individual study rather than formal classroom instruction, the course provides basic information in regard to Petty Officers Third and Second Class Naval Standards. This self-study course is organized into subject matter areas, each containing learning objectives to help you determine what you should learn along with text and illustrations to help you understand the information. The subject matter reflects day-to-day professional military knowledge.
This course is used for advancement of NSCC personnel to Petty Officer Third Class (E-4) with the completion of assignments 1 and 2, and the advancement of personnel to Petty Officer Second Class (E-5) with the completion of assignments 3, 4, and 5.
Military Requirements for PO1 (14145)
Provides subject matter related to the military qualifications of all first class petty officers. Provides information on U.S. naval tradition; leadership and administrative responsibilities; programs and policies; professional responsibilities; military requirements; safety and survival; and damage control.
This course is used for advancement of NSCC personnel to Petty Officer First Class (E-6).
Correspondence Course Management System
The NSCC Correspondence Course Management System (CCMS) is provided as a tool to administer the academic requirements of the NSCC/NLCC programs. This will allow our cadets to complete USN Non-Resident Training Courses and NLCC Practical Factors to advance in rate within the NSCC/NLCC.
Milliitary Requirements for CPO (14144)
Provides subject matter related to the military qualifications of all chief petty officers. Provides information on naval tradition, military conduct and justice, leadership, management information and training, programs and policies, military requirements, safety and damage control, and security.
This course is used for advancement of NSCC personnel to Chief Petty Officer (E-7).
Contains information on the following subject matter: watches, watch standing duties, marlinespike seamanship, deck seamanship, use and care of deck equipment, boat seamanship, ammunition and gunnery.
Correspondence Course Manual
This manual provides the guidance to administer U.S. Navy Correspondence Courses to Naval Sea Cadets and the NLCC Syllabus to Navy League Cadets.
